MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW) -Marathon County prosecutors have charged a 20-year old Wausau woman with animal abuse charges. 

Sean D. Janas is being held in the Marathon County jail on a $2,500 cash bond. Her next court appearance is a preliminary hearing scheduled for October 31. At that hearing, a judge will determine if there is enough evidence to send to send Janas to trial.

Marathon County Assistant District Attorney Lamont Jacobson calls the case one of the most disturbing cases of animal abuse he has seen in his career, “It is just disturbing that someone could to this to an animal, and according to the diary she kept,  it appears she took joy in abusing the animal.”
