All of us get by with a little help from our friends. But for this little baby calf, those lifesaving friends had furry faces and wet snouts. Imgur user Oakenboken tells the story of how the family’s yellow lab, Bosko, found a shivering baby calf in its ranch’s feed lot — freezing, hypothermic and nearly dead. With the help of his human owners, Bosko got the little guy to shelter — and blankets, a heating pad and stuffed animals. Bosko reportedly refused to leave his hoofed friend’s side for four hours, until the calf began moving and his breathing grew more regular. At that point, the pup came inside and sent his brother, Duke, out for night shift. As the gallery above shows, six months later Zeke, as the little calf’s been named, has made a full recovery.
