Animal Cruelty case in OK

From: KTUL.com

Bartlesville, OK – Police are investigating a shocking case of animal cruelty in Bartlesville. They say someone slashed the throat of a pit bull and left it for dead on Bison Road near Adams Boulevard.

There’s still a hint of the horror that laid in the middle of Bison Road. The original scene was a jaw dropping discovery that’s enough to turn the stomach of even the most seasoned investigator. “This is a first for us. I mean we don’t have this go on here. We would sure like to catch them. There’s tough laws on this. People in Oklahoma frown on this type of crime and we want to catch them,” said Bartlesville Police Chief Tom Holland.

Pets lovers like the John and Jan Gardner are petrified. They couldn’t imagine anyone doing anything like that to their two precious pets Cookie and Soffie. ” They’re close to family. You couldn’t hardly pick between them and family,” John Gardner told Tulsa’s Channel 8. “We’ve always had dogs. Our kids have dogs and there so many things you can do with an animal if you don’t want it anymore. You don’t have to do anything like that,” explained Jan Gardner.

Police agree. The hunt it is on for the culprit, but they admit there’s little to go on. “We’re really desperate for information. We just don’t know what happened, and what precipitated all this,” said Chief Holland. If you know anything about the case call Bartlesville Police at 918-338-4001 or Washington Crimestoppers at 918-336-CLUE.
