MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — A Murfreesboro woman said her dog-sitter beat her dog so badly, she had to put it to sleep.
The dog’s owner, Teresa Williams, said she got a call from her dog-sitter saying she needed to pick up her dog because it was sick. When Williams took the shih tzu Precious to the vet, it had four broken ribs and head trauma.
The injuries were so bad, the veterinarian decided the best option was to put the dog down.
Williams said she rescued Precious from an abusive home.
“I did rescue Precious from another shelter. I brought her from Michigan to Tennessee,” said Williams. “Precious would not hurt a flea. She did not deserve to be like I found her Tuesday morning.
“Police notified Animal Control, but according to the report, it refused to respond.
Williams said she is planning on filing animal abuse charges against the dog-sitter, Christy Dye
